What Medium?

I deeply enjoy being able to “play” in any given medium. Although it can be incredibly frustrating to find mastery of a skill when one is trying to play. Here’s the strange thing about learning and becoming good at anything: you have to struggle and not know what you’re doing first. That is quite literally the bane of my existence - I jest.

Acrylic paint has felt like a home for me. The most familiar aspect of my practice, which is funny to me considering how much time I’ve spent cultivating my curation practice. Painting has been the medium where I can see how I felt, can feel the emotion in the canvas, and can touch it. A blend of color and mix of textures is just one language of emotion. I love how quickly I can layer acrylic paint while also being able to expand its weight in application.
